In 2008 the Ecuadorian Constitution was rewritten to recognize indigenous political and philosophical ideas, becoming the first in world history to ratify legally defensible rights for Nature. This short documentary combines forms of observation, investigation, and exposition to explore the contradictions in this groundbreaking legislation.
A mixture of archival material and original footage from across the country animates a political struggle that extends from rural Amazonia to the capital city of Quito.
